But, really. Why? Why is adult acne a thing? Didn’t I serve my time as an awkward teen? Between environmental causes, hormonal fluctuation, and whatever else, my skin has just progressively gotten worse in my adult years. Adult Acne should literally be eradicated. It’s not fair. My skin isn’t even oily, which is a conundrum in itself. My skin is dry, but I am constantly broken out. I decided that it was definitely deeper than surface level (what products can reach), but I didn’t know what to do. Especially since I’ve tried what feels like every product on the market.
Then, I heard about blue light therapy. Dermatologists and medical spas use this treatment in clinics. The downside, is that it can cost anywhere from $1000 to $3000 for a treatment. People seem to see great results, but the acne starts to come back within weeks and most were unable to afford another round of treatments. TrophySkin developed something called BlueMD. BlueMD uses LED technology to eradicate the acne-causing bacterium, P. Acnes, a leading cause of blemishes and blackheads. This thing diminishes pore size, decreases skin congestion, balances sebum and oil production and relieves acne-related inflammation. The bulbs also emit red light, which promotes healing.
All you do is assemble the light by attaching the head to the base, plugging in the power cord, and switching it on! It couldn’t be any easier to use. I have mine on my dining table, but you could set it up anywhere you can sit or lay comfortably. Strap on the protective eye wear and you’re good to go.
All that’s required are five minute sessions, at least three times a week. For moderate to severe acne, multiple treatments per day are ok to do. I’ve been using it for about a month and I can definitely tell a difference. My skin tone is better, my pores seem smaller, and my breakouts have been way less intense. It’s fool proof and super easy to use. It can be used on your face, neck, arms, whatever needs it. If it’s this good short term, I can’t wait to see long term results!
